Aligner treatment is a wireless orthodontic method that uses digital orthodontic technology to straighten your teeth with custom-made clear trays (aligners). Wireless orthodontic treatment (aligners) is preferred because crowded teeth can be corrected with clear trays, without the use of braces.
Aligner treatment offers a modern and aesthetic solution for teeth straightening. This treatment method is suitable for:
Aligners and traditional braces are two popular methods used for orthodontic correction. However, the differences between them are as follows:
Both methods have advantages and disadvantages, so the most suitable
option should be chosen by taking personal needs and the orthodontic condition into account.
A 3D digital scan of your mouth is taken before treatment begins. How far your teeth will move at each stage is planned on the computer. Each tray gently pushes the teeth in a specific direction. As you wear the series of trays in order, your teeth reach the planned position.
For treatment to be successful, the aligners need to be worn an average of 20–22 hours a day. It is recommended to remove them only while eating and brushing your teeth.
No, which is why they are also known as “invisible braces”. Unless someone looks very closely, they are not noticed by others. They do not affect social or professional life.
Yes! There is no “forbidden foods” list as with braces. Because you remove the aligners while eating, you can eat anything you like. You only need to avoid hot and colored drinks (coffee, tea, cola) while the aligners are in your mouth (except plain water), because the aligners can discolor or be deformed by heat.
There may be a slight lisp or adjustment period for the first few days. However, once your tongue adapts to the aligners (usually within 2–3 days), your speech returns completely to normal.
